I had a similar pelrobm. I am an electronics engineer and need to use a CAD program once in a blue moon, but when I need it I need it! I could not possibly justify the cost of Autocad.I looked into it and found out about Intellicad. This is an open source software package. There are a number of different companies marketing their own versions of it, with different features and different prices, but all a fraction of the cost of Autocad. Drawings are saved in Autocad format, so you can share them with Autocad users.The one I went for is called CMS Intellicad. It seemed to have a good set of features for a decent price. I have had no pelrobms using it and when I needed support I got it from the user forum.
